Unto the Least
“I’ve loved the Lord for 37 years.”
Nancy Leigh DeMoss: We show whether we really love Jesus by the way we treat other people.
“I just can’t stand being around Linda. Do you know what I heard about her yesterday?"
Nancy: In Matthew 25 Jesus commends those who have met His needs. He says, “As you did it to the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.”
In other words, when we help someone in need, it’s like we’re helping the Lord Himself. He takes what we do for others personally.
If we really believe this, I bet we’d be more careful about how we treat others. Would we lie to Jesus? Gossip about Him? Give Him the silent treatment? Jesus says, “As you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.”
As you meet people today, try picturing Jesus in their place. It will affect your words and actions.
