Restore My Soul

Nancy Leigh DeMoss: Ask the average woman today how she’s doing, and you’ll likely hear:
“Exhausted! I wake up with a long to-do list and drop into bed tired every night.”
“Even vacation doesn’t help. I come back more tired than when I left.”
Nancy Leigh DeMoss: I don’t think the issue is just a matter of how much we have to do. I’m convinced that one of the major reasons we can’t handle the demands of day-to-day living is that our spirits are weary. Our souls need to be restored. That’s one of the purposes of a daily devotional time.
The demands of a typical day may cause us to fall into bed exhausted. But, according to Lamentations 3, God’s mercies are “new every morning” (verses 22-23).
If we don’t draw from His fresh, infinite supply of mercy and grace, we’ll have to depend on our own depleted, meager resources. So tomorrow morning, why don’t you take some time to draw from His mercy? Let Him refresh and restore your soul.
With Seeking Him, I'm Nancy Leigh DeMoss.
