Opening a Door

Nancy Leigh DeMoss: The door in our recording studio is extremely heavy. One time I was sitting in on a recording session, and when I got up to leave, the engineer jumped up and opened the door for me. This engineer is a gentleman, so I wasn’t surprised. I just thanked him and left.
Later that day, I met another woman who had been a guest in the studio at the same time. She was in tears and told me, “I just want to say what an incredible thing it was when that man got up and opened the door for you.”
Why was that so touching to her? I think it’s because a complementary relationship between men and women is so rare today. There is so little of it that it can impact you in powerful ways when you see it.
Do you affirm men who act like gentlemen? It’s an important way that you can reflect true womanhood to a watching world.
With Seeking Him, I’m Nancy Leigh DeMoss.
